NW 440 is part of Greentree Village, a quiet community in Burnaby consisting of strata-run townhouses and garden apartments as well as stand-alone homes.
There are six independent strata corporations in Greentree Village. The village was constructed in phases by Daon Development Corporation between 1972 and 1976 with NW440 built as the fourth phase. It was completed in 1975 and consists of 62 units. There are two streets which make up our strata corporation: Driftwood Place and Birchwood Crescent/Place. Of the 62 units, 30 are located on Driftwood and 32 are on Birchwood.
NW 440 is conveniently located in central Burnaby. It is a five minute walk to the British Columbia Institute of Technology and there are many schools in close proximity: Gilpin Elementary, Deer Lake School, Marlborough Elementary, Moscrop Secondary and Central Secondary.
There is convenient access to the TransCanada Highway from either the Willingdon or Kensington interchanges and there are three shopping centers about a five-minute drive away: Metrotown, Old Orchard and Brentwood.
We are also close to Deer Lake Park and Burnaby Lake which provide a choice of many beautiful walking trails as well as kayaking and canoeing.
The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Burnaby Village Museum, Michael J. Fox Theatre and the Bob Prittie Metrotown Library are only minutes away. We also have ready access to community centres, movie theatres, golf courses, swimming pools, bike routes, skating rinks and tennis courts. In addition, Burnaby Hospital is very close to NW 440 as are several medical clinics.
There is always something to see and do near our community. Check out the City of Burnaby website for more information. http://www.burnaby.ca/Things-To-Do.html
